Most hotels in the
state of Campeche concentrate in its two largest towns, Campeche City and
Ciudad del Carmen. Hotel rates are very attractive ranging from
a approximately CAN $85 per night for a comfortable room to
spacious suites with all the amenities for approximately CAN $140.00 in
Campeche City. (rates in Cd. del Carmen may be higher during the week
when the business crowd takes many of the rooms).
Consider the
following hotels for your visit to Campeche City, with its World Heritage Site
downtown.

The Hotel del Mar is one of the largest and most established
hotels in the City of Campeche. It's very close to the historic downtown and
across from the embankment (great sunsets). It is not a luxury hotel but
it is quite good for a holiday in Campeche. This hotel offers a
variety of accommodations but we do recommend that you stay in the
Executive floor.
For all your expenses in Campeche we suggest
you use American currency. Unfortunately our looney is not traded much in
Mexico so the exchange rate is not great. Better to purchase American
dollars, travellers cheques or use your credit card.
Verify rates
either directly with the hotel or with
one of the local travel operators.
