Campeche State is rich in natural resources. It's climate and fertile soil
produce delicious fruit. From the simple lime to the luscious mango
and the sweet Maradol papaya, Campeche's fruit is a delight. You
might have had some Campeche fruit already without knowing since some of the
fruit at your local grocer might have been originally from Campeche.
There are several fruit producers in Campeche, both
small and large. Some of these producers grow fruit just for the local
or domestic markets and some grow fruit mostly for export to the United
States and Europe.
Canada and the US most likely get some of this fruit (like watermelon) from
American distributors. Europe imports large quantities of grapefruit
and lime from Campeche. Carlos Patron, a lime, grapefruit and mango
grower exports most of his fruit to Europe. He is familiar with and has
experience in dealing with regulatory issues.
In addition to lime, mangoes, grapefruit and watermelon, Campeche produces
delicious Maradol Papayas. One of the most experienced papaya growers is Mr.
Eugenio Aloisi. Mr. Aloisi's organization also grows chili peppers and
watermelons. He has plantations in different areas of Mexico. In
Campeche State he grows export quality Maradol Papaya, which he exports
mostly to the United States, via Texas. Mr. Aloisi is also interested in the
Canadian market.
