A cozy traditional restaurant in the heart of the City of Campeche. Right across
from the historic wall, steps from the main square,
Marganzo is one of the popular spots frequented by local businesspeople and
visitors alike. The atmosphere is casual, the food local with an
international touch and the look of the restaurant is totally Campeche. The
friendly waitresses wear the traditional Campechan outfit giving the place
an aura of times gone by.
Stop by early in the morning for breakfast: fresh fruit, fresh orange
juice, eggs prepared in a variety of ways, coffee. Feel the town coming
alive and afterwards stroll down to the main plaza or go for a walk in the
malecón (embankment on the waterfront).
Marganzo is part of the Ganzo company, a local firm headed by a dynamo business
woman whose family owns three other food establishments in town,
Sole and
the Parroquia of Campeche Cafe and a brand new hostel opening in 2005.
If you visit, ask for Doña Elda Ganzo and say hello.

For all your
expenses in Campeche we suggest you use American currency. Unfortunately our
Canadian looney is not traded much in Mexico so the exchange rate is not great.
Better to purchase American dollars, travellers cheques or use your credit
card. |
